Master of Science in Community Dentistry [MSc(CommunityDent)]
理科碩士(社會牙醫學)

Full-time (1 year)

The MSc in Community Dentistry provides dentists with advanced training related to the oral and dental health of populations and groups. The programme includes training in:
  • Population-level patterns of oral conditions
  • Preventive dentistry
  • Related behavioural sciences
  • Systems for the provision of dental health care and their administration

Master of Science in Dental Materials Science [MSc(DMS)]
理科碩士(牙科材料科學)

Full-time (1 year)

The MSc in Dental Materials Science trains dentists and other science graduates in understanding, selecting, and working with all classes of materials relevant to dentistry. The programme includes training in:
  • The principles underlying the mechanical, physical, and chemical properties of biomaterials
  • The structure of biomaterials at molecular, microscopic, and macroscopic levels
  • Mechanisms of reaction and mechanical failure
  • The function, application handling, and service of biomaterials

Master of Dental Surgery in Endodontics [MDS(Endo)]
牙醫碩士(牙髓病學)

Full-time (3 years)

The MDS in Endodontics trains dentists in the comprehensive treatment of conditions related to the internal tissues of teeth. The programme includes training in:

  • Clinical procedures in endodontics and understanding of relevant dental materials
  • Clinical treatment under the surgical operating microscope or other magnifying aids
  • Emergency and remedial dental care related to failed endodontic procedures
  • Surgical procedures around the roots

Advanced Diploma in Endodontics [AdvDipEndodont]
牙髓病學高級文憑

Full-time (1 year) or Part-time (2 years)

The Advanced Diploma in Endodontics provides dentists with advanced training in the management of conditions related to the internal tissues of teeth, using both surgical and non-surgical approaches. The programme includes training in:

  • Conditions involving the tooth’s pulp and regions around the roots
  • Persistent conditions of endodontic origin
  • Traumatic injuries to teeth
  • The role of endodontic therapy in the multidisciplinary approach to the overall management of patients

Master of Science in General Dentistry [MSc(GeneralDent)]
理科碩士 (全科牙醫學)

Full-time (1 year)

The MSc in General Dentistry trains general dentists to provide comprehensive dental care at a high level. The broad training equips the graduate with scientific knowledge and clinical skills for advanced dental practice.  The programme includes coverage of:

  • Fixed and removable tooth replacements
  • Dental surgery
  • Conditions related to the internal tissues of teeth
  • Conditions related to the supporting structures of teeth

Master of Science in Implant Dentistry [MSc(ImplantDent)]
理科碩士(植齒學)

Part-time (2 years, limited to local dentists)

The MSc in Implant Dentistry trains dentists to introduce dental implants and comprehensive treatment planning into their daily practice. The programme includes training in:

  • Straightforward cases of implant therapy, such as the replacement of single back-teeth
  • All treatment aspects (diagnosis, treatment planning, surgical techniques, and construction and maintenance of tooth replacements)
  • Maintenance therapy and management of complications

Master of Dental Surgery in Implant Dentistry [MDS(ImplantDent)]
牙醫碩士(植齒學)

Full-time (3 years)

The MDS in Implant Dentistry trains international and local dentists who have relevant practical experience to achieve the level of competence needed to tackle advanced and complex implant cases. It will also enable graduates to install and reconstruct implants as an integral part of implant therapy irrespective of the level of difficulty. The programme includes training in:

  • Performing advanced procedures such as building more jaw-bone before installing implants to replace front-teeth and upper-teeth
  • Treatment evaluation and treatment planning for complex cases
  • Management of technical and biological complications that can arise during implant maintenance of complex cases

Master of Dental Surgery in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery [MDS(OralMaxFacSur)]
牙醫碩士(口腔頜面外科學)

Full-time (3 years)

The MDS in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery trains dentists to become competent in the surgical treatment of medical conditions affecting the mouth and jaws. The programme includes training in:

  • Becoming familiar with most diseases affecting the mouth and jaws
  • Understanding the principles of patient management, and providing care for surgical patients
  • Basic skills in oral surgery and selected aspects of maxillofacial surgery
  • Administering injected sedatives for surgery

Advanced Diploma in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery [AdvDipOMS]
口腔頷面外科高級文憑

Full-time (2 years)

The Advanced Diploma in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery trains MDS graduates to become specialists in oral and maxillofacial surgery and achieve an advanced level of knowledge and clinical competence in the field. The programme includes training in a broad range of clinical subspecialties of oral and maxillofacial surgery, such as:

  • Jawbone surgery
  • Jaw joint surgery
  • Implantology
  • Surgery for cleft lip and palate

Master of Dental Surgery in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics [MDS(Orthodontics&DentalfacialOrthopaedics)]
牙醫碩士(矯齒學與牙頜面矯形學)

Full-time (3 years)

The MDS in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics trains dentists in the principles and practice of straightening misaligned teeth. The programme includes training in:

  • Applying techniques in clinical orthodontics at an advanced level
  • Integrating theoretical and practical knowledge in the management of all kinds of young and adult orthodontic patients
  • Acquiring familiarity of dental and medical disciplines and biomedical sciences relevant to orthodontics

Advanced Diploma in Orthodontics [AdvDipOrth]
矯齒學高級文憑

Part-time (2 years)

The Advanced Diploma in Orthodontics trains MDS graduates to diagnose and manage complex medical conditions involving misaligned teeth. The programme includes training in:

  • Integrating theoretical and clinical knowledge related to the management and orthodontic treatment of patients with complex bone and face deformities
  • Working at the interface between orthodontics, maxillofacial surgery, and other related disciplines
  • Collaborating in multidisciplinary teams for the treatment of orthodontic and surgical problems and care of cleft palate patients

Master of Dental Surgery in Paediatric Dentistry [MDS(PaediatrDent)]
牙醫碩士(兒童齒科)

Full-time (3 years)

The MDS in Paediatric Dentistry trains dentists to be clinically competent in managing dental and oral conditions in children. The programme includes training in:

  • Oral surgical procedures for children; preventing tooth decay
  • Principles of orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning
  • Dentistry for the disabled or medically compromised child
  • Managing cleft lip and palate, and missing teeth during development
  • Managing trauma and medical emergencies

Advanced Diploma in Paediatric Dentistry [AdvDipPaediatrDent]
兒童齒科高級文憑

Full-time (1 year)

The Advanced Diploma in Paediatric Dentistry trains MDS graduates to consolidate clinical skills, improve diagnostic skills, and build on previous experience in managing dental and oral conditions in children. The programme includes training in:

  • The care of cleft lip and palate and special-needs patients
  • The diagnosis, treatment planning, and initial treatment of emergency cases
  • The management of medically compromised patients
  • Treatment under general anaesthesia
  • Liaison with other health workers

Master of Dental Surgery in Periodontology [MDS(Perio)]

Full-time (3 years)

The MDS in Periodontology is a programme of advanced study and research into diseases and conditions of the supporting tissues of teeth, such as their causes and methods of prevention and management. The programme includes training in:

  • The role of advanced forms of periodontal therapy in comprehensive oral health care
  • Planning, routine placement, and supportive care for dental implants

牙醫碩士(牙周病學)

Full-time (2 years)

The Conjoint MDS in Periodontology is our Beijing annexe programme of advanced study and research into diseases and conditions of the supporting tissues of teeth, such as their causes and methods of prevention and management. The programme includes training in:

  • The role of advanced forms of periodontal therapy in comprehensive oral health care
  • Planning, routine placement, and supportive care for dental implants

Advanced Diploma in Periodontology [AdvDipPeriodont]
牙周病學高級文憑

Full-time (1 year) / Part-time (2 years)

The Advanced Diploma in Periodontology is for dentists who have already completed 2 years of higher education and training in periodontology. The programme covers more advanced treatment procedures for managing diseases and conditions of the supporting tissues of teeth, and includes:

  • The role of dental implants in replacing teeth lost because of periodontal problems
  • Multidisciplinary approaches in treating patients with gum diseases

Master of Dental Surgery in Prosthodontics [MDS(Prostho)]
牙醫碩士(修復學)

Full-time (3 years)

The MDS in Prosthodontics is a programme of advanced study and research in the oral rehabilitation of patients with missing teeth and structures by various kinds of artificial devices or prostheses. The programme includes training in:

  • Implant prosthodontics
  • Fixed and removable prosthodontics
  • Jaw and face prosthodontics

牙科修復學高級文憑

Part-time (2 years)

The Advanced Diploma in Prosthodontics provides holders of the MDS in Prosthodontics with further knowledge and clinical competence in managing complex prosthodontic cases. The programme includes training in:

  • Adopting a multidisciplinary approach to manage complex oral and maxillofacial rehabilitation
  • One or more advanced areas of prosthodontics
